An age-old medicine system that’s still solving today’s health challenges.
Ayurveda is the traditional medicine system of India, dating back more than 5000 years. It’s literal meaning is ‘the science of life’, and within it’s ancient texts, it carries an abundance of wisdom and practical knowledge on how we can traverse the physical and mental challenges that plague us on a daily basis.
Its' resurgence in modern society comes at a time when yoga and meditation are on the rise. While the origins of Ayurveda date back thousands of years, its' principles are just as relevant in today’s society and the therapies can be applied for good health just as they did in previous centuries.
In a nutshell, Ayurveda looks at each person as a unique individual – and as such, each person should be treated individually, not with blanket healthcare recommendations. It strives to bring each individual back to a state of balance using a combination of diet and lifestyle modifications, herbs and therapies. Ayurveda has a very holistic approach to health – taking into consideration a person’s physical, emotional, mental and spiritual wellbeing.
